Legal information

Privacy and cookies

This site is my personal portfolio. It sells nothing, shows no ads and asks no one to sign up. Here I explain, with no small print, what data is processed when you visit and how you can decide about it.

02What data is processed and why

Usage analytics (only with your consent)

If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 records browsing data: pages viewed, clicks on links and buttons, time on page, device and browser type, and an approximate location (country or city). Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses.

I use it for one thing only: to learn which content is interesting and improve the portfolio. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 22.2 of the Spanish LSSI), which you can withdraw whenever you like.

If you don’t accept, Google Analytics runs in cookieless mode (Consent Mode): it neither stores nor reads cookies in your browser and only receives anonymous signals that a visit took place, with no identifiers.

Contact

If you email me, I’ll use your address and message only to reply to you. The legal basis is your own request and the legitimate interest in answering it.

CV requests

The “Download CV” button opens a Tally form. Whatever you write there reaches me, and I use it only to send you the CV or reply to you.

03Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. This site only uses these:

bm_cookie_consentTechnical · first-partyRemember whether you accepted or rejected analytics (local storage, not a cookie).Until you delete it
bm_langTechnical · first-partyRemember the language you chose, Spanish or English (local storage).Until you delete it

The last three are technical: they make the site work the way you chose and don’t require consent. Google’s are only created if you accept.

Analytics cookies

Not decided yet

If you reject them after accepting, consent is withdrawn in Google Analytics and its cookies are deleted from your browser. You can also remove them from your browser settings.

04Third parties and transfers

To work, this site relies on a few external services. When the page loads, your browser connects to them and, as with any connection on the internet, they receive your IP address:

  • GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.): hosts the site and may log technical access data for security. Their privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts (Google LLC): serves the typefaces. Their privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.): analytics, on the terms described above.
  • jsDelivr and cdnjs: serve some animation and charting libraries on specific pages.

Some of these providers may process data in the United States. Google and GitHub participate in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as an adequate safeguard.

Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, Behance, Power BI or Tally lead to sites with their own privacy policies. This site doesn’t embed their buttons or trackers.

05How long data is kept

  • Analytics: Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in the tool, 14 months at most, and is then deleted automatically.
  • Emails: as long as needed to deal with your message and, at most, one year after the last contact, unless you ask me to delete them sooner.
  • Your cookie and language choices: stay in your browser until you clear its data.

06Your rights

You can exercise these rights by writing to borja.mora.mendez@gmail.com. I’ll reply within one month at most.

  • AccessFind out what data of yours I process.
  • RectificationCorrect inaccurate data.
  • ErasureAsk me to delete it.
  • Objection and restrictionAsk me to stop using it or to use it less.
  • PortabilityReceive it in a format you can take elsewhere.
  • Withdraw consentAt any time, without affecting what came before.

If you think I haven’t handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

07Changes to this policy

If I change anything relevant, such as adding a new tool, I’ll update this page and the date at the top. If the change affects cookies, you’ll see the notice again so you can decide afresh.
