Borja Mora Méndez

Junior Data Analyst · Power BI specialist

I work with data from start to finish: I prepare and model the information with SQL and Power Query, analyse it with DAX and Python and turn it into Power BI dashboards that show what’s happening and why.

I’m especially interested in what happens between the data and the person using it. That’s why I care as much about the analysis as about how it’s presented, applying UX/UI and data storytelling principles to build reports that are clear, useful and easy to read.

I got here after seven years between Madrid and London, working in marketing, analysis and operations. That experience gives me a business perspective that I now combine with my specialism in data and visualisation.

Experience

Data-related roles and training

2023 — present

Data Analyst · Intensive specialisation

Since 2023 I’ve focused my career on data analysis and visualisation, combining specialist training with my own projects.

I’ve built a portfolio of 24+ projects in Power BI, Python and SQL, covering everything from data preparation and modelling to analysis and visualisation. They include financial reporting, RFM analysis and end-to-end business intelligence projects.

I also built PBI Mockup Creator, a tool for designing Power BI layouts using UX and Gestalt principles. Alongside that, I share content on Power BI and data storytelling on LinkedIn, where I’ve reached 3,017 followers and 192K cumulative impressions.

2022 — 2023

Operations Manager · Negronis

Running the operations of a business in London, with responsibility for the P&L and tracking results.

Data analysis was part of day-to-day decisions: reviewing results, spotting variances and deciding where to act, using Excel.

2021 — 2022

Junior Analyst, Data & Analytics · NTT DATA

My first role directly linked to data analysis.

I worked on automotive sector projects, building dashboards and analysis for sales teams with SQL, Python and Excel.

I also took part in analysing customer datasets and automating data extraction and cleaning tasks, cutting the time needed to prepare the reporting.

Education

2026

Master’s in UX/UI · Neoland · In progress

A specialisation that complements my background in communication and helps me go deeper into how to design digital experiences that are clear and easy to understand.

In data, I apply this perspective above all to visualisation and dashboard design, where what matters isn’t only what information we show, but also how we present it.

2026

Data Analytics Bootcamp (360 hours) · Neoland

Intensive training as a Data Analyst to strengthen my professional profile and build a solid technical foundation.

During the programme I consolidated my knowledge of SQL, Python, machine learning and analysis with LLMs, as well as working with statistics, big data and AI applied to data analysis.

It was a key stage in consolidating the technical knowledge I now apply in my analysis and visualisation projects.

2024

Power BI specialisation · Namasdata

Specialist training in Power BI, data modelling, DAX and visualisation, with a particular focus on building clear, well-structured reports.

2015 — 2016

Master’s in Business Intelligence & Big Data · MSMK

Training in business intelligence and data analysis applied to business.

2009 — 2014

Degree in Advertising and Public Relations · UCM

My first professional training was in communication.

Over time, that foundation connected with another of my interests: how to turn complex information into something people can understand and use.
